The AI Stock Screener turns a sentence into a stock screen. Type what you want to find, and the AI splits it into filters, shows each one as a chip you can edit or remove, and lists the stocks that pass. It sets filters from your words; it does not pick stocks or give advice.

## How it works

1. **Type a sentence.** English, Hindi or Hinglish. For example: “stocks within 10% of their 52-week high with ROE and ROCE above 15%”.
2. **See it turned into filters.** Each phrase of your sentence becomes a chip, and a funnel shows how many stocks are left after each filter.
3. **Adjust, then study the list.** Edit or remove any chip and the list updates at once. “Open in Stock Screener” carries the filters over so you can sort the results and refine them further.

The AI reads your sentence once, which uses one AI credit; signed-in users get free credits every month. Editing chips afterwards is free. The stock list always comes from the scanner’s own data, never from the AI, so it cannot make up a number.

## Technical and fundamental indicators in one sentence

Most screeners keep technical filters and fundamental filters in different places. Here you can mix them in one sentence: a stock close to its 52-week high (technical) with a high return on equity (fundamental), or a VCP setup (technical) in a company with steady revenue growth (fundamental).

Gold technical filter Green fundamental filter

| Group | What you can filter on |
|---|---|
| Technical Relative strength | RS rating (1 to 99), RS change over a month, RS trend (improving or fading), beating the index or its own sector over 3 months |
| Technical Trend | Trend template checks (out of 8), Weinstein stage 1 to 4, above or below the 21 EMA, 50 DMA and 200 DMA, 50-day above 200-day, 21 EMA above 50 EMA, hugging a moving average |
| Technical Price and range | Distance from the 52-week high or low, new 1-month, 3-month or 52-week high, returns from 1 week to 12 months, share price |
| Technical Momentum | RSI (14) on the daily, weekly and monthly charts |
| Technical Volume and liquidity | Volume compared with the 50-day average, average daily traded value |
| Technical Setups | VCP, cup with handle, flag, pocket pivot, volume breakout, Darvas box, multi-year breakout, RS line at a new high, distance below a pivot |
| Technical Groups | Sector, industry, theme, Sector Rotation quadrant (Leading, Improving, Weakening, Lagging), the top few sectors |
| Fundamental Quality | Return on equity (ROE), return on capital employed (ROCE), operating margin |
| Fundamental Growth | Revenue growth (last 12 months, latest quarter, or in each of the last 4 quarters), profit growth (last 12 months or latest quarter) |
| Fundamental Balance sheet and value | Debt-to-equity (for example debt-free), P/E, market cap |

Fundamentals come from each company’s results filings on NSE, using the latest reported quarter (consolidated figures where the company files them). They are available for India’s main scan list, the Nifty Total Market. Banks and NBFCs have no operating margin or ROCE, because interest is their business. Technical filters work for India and the US; the fundamental filters are India only.

## Examples: what you type and the filters it sets

The first example shows the whole flow. The table after it shows how other sentences map to filters.

You type

“Stocks within 10% of their 52-week high with ROE and ROCE above 15%”

Filters it sets

Within 10% of the 52-week highROE ≥ 15%ROCE ≥ 15%

A funnel shows how many stocks each filter leaves. The matching stocks are listed and sortable, and every chip stays editable. This is an illustration of the filters, not a list of stocks to buy.

| You type | Filters it sets |
|---|---|
| “Debt-free companies with ROE above 20% and revenue growth above 15%” | Debt/equity ≤ 0ROE ≥ 20%Revenue growth (12 months) ≥ 15% |
| “RS above 90 and above the 200-day average” | RS ≥ 90Above 200 DMA |
| “RS 90 se upar aur 200 DMA ke upar” (Hinglish) | RS ≥ 90Above 200 DMA |
| “Stage 2 stocks in leading sectors with a VCP” | Stage 2Sector in the Leading quadrantPattern: VCP |
| “Stocks up 50% in the last month on twice the average volume” | 1-month return ≥ 50%Volume ≥ 2× average |
| “Revenue growth of at least 20% in each of the last 4 quarters and a new 52-week high” | Revenue growth ≥ 20% in each of 4 quartersPattern: new 52-week high |
| “Profit growth over 12 months above 25%, ROCE above 18% and weekly RSI above 60” | Profit growth (12 months) ≥ 25%ROCE ≥ 18%Weekly RSI ≥ 60 |
| “Good management and RS above 80” | RS ≥ 80Not applied: good management |

When your sentence is vague, the AI picks a sensible threshold and lists it as an assumption (for example, “strong” as an RS rating of 80 or more), so you can change it. The wording of the filters may differ slightly from the table. Anything it cannot filter on is shown as “Not applied”, as in the last row, so a list never silently ignores part of your request.

## What it cannot filter on

- **Things the data does not hold:** news, management quality, dividends, price targets and anything about the future.
- **Indicators it does not have:** MACD, VWAP, inside bars, candle patterns, FII and DII flows, and intraday or futures-and-options questions.
- **A sequence over time,** such as “RSI touched 40 and then bounced”. It sets only the part that describes today and tells you.
- **A company name on its own.** That is a search, not a screen: use the Workspace search box to open its chart.

## Which tool for which job

| Tool | Use it when |
|---|---|
| **AI Stock Screener** | You can say what you want in words and want to see exactly how it was turned into filters. |
| Ready-made screens | You want a fixed, named rule, such as the trend template, VCP or pullback to the 50-day average, with adjustable thresholds. |
| Custom screen builder | You prefer to set every filter by hand and save the result. |
| Ask AI | You have a question about a stock, a sector or a backtest and want an explanation from the scanner’s data. |

## Tips for better results

- **Use numbers.** “ROE above 20%” is clearer than “high ROE”.
- **Start with two or three filters** and add more. Each chip shows how many stocks it removes.
- **Name the sector or theme** as it appears in the scanner.
- **Read the assumptions line** when you use words like “strong” or “near the high”.
- **Keep Liquid only on** unless you want small, thinly traded stocks.

## Limits you should know

- It sets filters from your words. It is not a financial adviser, and screen results are not recommendations.
- Data is end-of-day and updates once after each trading day, so it is not real-time.
- Fundamentals use the latest reported quarter from NSE filings, which can arrive late or be revised.
- Like any AI, it can misread a sentence. Check the chips before you rely on the list.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is an AI stock screener?

A stock screener where you describe what you want in plain English and the AI turns it into filters. Here the filters appear as chips you can edit, and the stock list comes from the scanner’s own data.

### Does the AI Stock Screener use technical and fundamental filters?

Yes. Technical filters include relative strength, trend, moving averages, RSI, volume and chart setups. Fundamental filters include ROE, ROCE, revenue and profit growth, operating margin, debt-to-equity and P/E. Fundamentals are for India only.

### Is it free?

Signed-in users get free AI credits every month. Each sentence you type uses one credit; editing or removing chips afterwards is free.

### Can I type in Hindi or Hinglish?

Yes. The request can be in English, Hindi or Hinglish; the filters it shows are in English.

### What happens if it cannot filter on part of my sentence?

It lists that part as “Not applied”, with your own words, and shows any assumption it made, so you know exactly what the list reflects.

### Does it tell me which stocks to buy?

No. It turns your words into filters and lists the stocks that pass them. It does not recommend, rank by “best to buy” or predict. Consult a SEBI-registered investment adviser before acting.

### Which markets does it cover?

NSE stocks and the US stocks in the scanner (S&P 1500 and Nasdaq-100). The fundamental filters are available for India only.
